Hamas political bureau official: PA spying for the West
Doha / PNN - Member of the Political Bureau of Hamas, Mohammed Nazzal, accused the security organs of the Palestinian National Authority of spying on Arab and Islamic states in favor of Israel and the United States and other Western countries.
According to Nazzal PA intelligence took clandestine information from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Egypt, Qatar, Sudan, Djibouti and Somalia.
The Hamas officials information is coming from documents handed over to the party. Yesterday on Al Jazeera Nazzal said that millions of documents were found establishing connections inside and outside Palestine.
The documents are in the forms of CDs and sound files, photographs and videos loaded on computers. There are also Palestinian security signatures and the letterhead and logo of the Palestinian National Authority, said Nazzal. He continued to say that May 2006 documents involve intelligence on a Pakistani nuclear reactor, including photographs. Nazzal also presented documents regarding the Al Shifa plant in Sudan that ostensibly develops chemical weapons. The Hamas political bureau leader said that documents indicate the intelligence was gathered just a month before the US shelling of the factory on 20 August 1998. Nazzal stressed that he believes the Americans relied on this information.
He also outlined events regarding France, Sudan and Iraq.
