Dear Muslim, dear believer, dear brothers and sisters, Assalam wa-alaikum, peace be upon you,



In order to stop feeling that “there is so little we can do” and to make a difference for our brothers and sisters in Palestine, we should have a world-wide fast of one day!



This coming Thursday, 15 January 2009 can –if Allah wills- be a day on which 1,000,000,000 fasting Muslims will fight with their prayers for the Palestinians and all others who may need the same prayers. Absolutely no nation or group of people in the whole world can match this! We should stop underestimating our power: We Muslims have great power in numbers and we have God on our side! Who else can say that?



Quickly pass this mail on to everyone you know. (And translate if necessary.)



With the help of Allah, WE CAN DO THIS!

Nous sommes tous choquer par ce qui se passa Gaza et nous compatissons tous a leur douleurs mais attention a ne pas tomber dans l'innovation. Les jours que tous les musulmans doivent jeuner ensable sont connus dans le Coran et la Sounnah. Tu peux jeuner pour pour Allah et a la fin de ton jeune tu fais des invocation et nos frères et soeurs en Palestine ya aucun problèmes mais aller jusqu'a appeler a un jour internationale pour cette cause n'a aucun fondement en islam et c'est de la pure innovation.

Assalam `alaykum Wa rahmatullahi Wa barakatuhu

Voici un essai de traduction (mon anglais n'est pas extra) :

Cher musulman, cher croyant, chers frères et soeurs, que la paix soit sur vous.

Pour arrêter d'avoir le sentiment "qu'il y a si peu qu'on puisse faire" et faire une différence pour nos frères et soeurs, nous devrions avoir une journée de jeûne mondiale.

Ce jeudi prochain (15 Janvier 2009) peut (si Allah le veut) être un jour pendant lequel 1 milliard de musulmans jeûneurs combattrons dans leurs prières pour les palestiniens et tout les autres qui ont besoin des mêmes prières. Nous devrions arrêter de sous-estimer notre pouvoir : Nous, musulmans, avons un fort pouvoir (quantitativement) et nous avons Dieu de notre côté! Qui d'autre peut dire cela ?

Svp faire suivre rapidement ce mail à ceux que vous connaissez. Nous pouvons le faire


Edit : Oui comme le frère, nous pouvons jeûner et faire des invocations à la rupture du jeûne pour nos frères et soeurs, mais nous devons jeûner pour (et seulement pour) Allah `azzawajal.

C'est l'idée elle même qui me dérange! je ne met pas en doutes les bonnes intentions de l'initiateur de cette idée mais elle me parait fausse car appeler tous les musulmans a jeuner un jour pour Allah azzawajal en d'hors des jours connus dans la tradition est une innovation qui n'a aucun fondement c'est comme si tu demande a tous les musulmans de prière un jours X ensable dans les mosquée pour une X raison...Attention a ne pas tomber dans l'innovation braka Allahou fikoum

Why it is a innovtion? The prophet sallalahoe 3aleihi wa salam always fasted on monday and thursday. It seems me very good to fasting together as a moslimnation, on a day on wich the prophet (sws) also fasted.. wa allahoe a3lam.

I will translate what i said :

Fasting is an acte of worship like the Salat. When a Muslim fasts he should do it For the sake of Allah Azaa Wajal and only for Allah.

The days that all the Muslims all over the world should fast are known at the Quran and the Sunnah when you call all the Muslims to fast a specific day without any proofs from the Quran or sunnah its an innovation and its rejected!!! you got it Sister ?

I got you're point.. But I'm still at my point.. It is anyhowe a voluntary day to fast.. when you ask all the moslims over the whole world to fast and to do doe'a for the palestinian people, it seems me that as a significant dead. It's not a day that always must be a fasting day or something..

Salamo 'Aalaykom Wa Rahmato Allah,

I got your point, but it stills an innovation in religion ! as a solution, there should be two intentions in this act:
One is for fasting: we muslims will fast next Thursday, because it's a sonna to fast in that day.
The other one is for du'a, we invite muslims to make prayers for the Palestinians in Gaza.

Am I right brother ShiRLeSs ???

Yes, I've asked a person who knows a lot of Islam. And she said that it could (it is) bid3a, because it's possible that some people fast with the intention palestine. Gair inch'allah, I'm ignorant.. And shirkless was right.
