Un building flambant neuf d’une superficie couverte de 10 000 m2 dans la nouvelle cité d’offshoring de Rabat Technopolis. Ce sont les locaux dans lesquels va s’installer Nemotek Technologies, filiale à 100% de CDG, spécialisée dans la fabrication de composants pour caméras miniaturisées destinées aux téléphones mobiles, à la médecine et à l’industrie automobile. La société a investi, à ce jour, l’équivalent de 40 millions de dollars (320 MDH) et devrait atteindre 100 millions de dollars à l’horizon 2012. Les premiers composants sortiront des lignes de production au 4e trimestre de cette année à raison d’une capacité initiale de 17 000 unités par an qui devrait atteindre 150 000 en 2012.

Tessera Licenses Consumer Optics and WL-CSP Technologies to Nemotek

A Combination of Tessera’s OptiML Wafer-Level Camera Technology and SHELLCASE Wafer-Level Packaging to Enable Next-Generation Camera Solutions has been licensed to Nemotek

15th January – Nemotek is a recently established company based in Morocco and led by Mohamed Lasry, the former chairman of STMicroelectronics-Morocco, who was brought on as chief executive officer to help drive the company’s vision. Nemotek is the first company to license both the OptiML and SHELLCASE technologies from Tessera.

With these solutions, Nemotek will provide image sensor packaging services and camera module design and assembly for applications including mobile phones, laptop computers, security and automotive devices. Nemotek expects to begin volume shipments of its Tessera technology-based offerings in January 2009, with capacity plans for more than 150 million wafer-level camera units and 250 thousand image sensor wafers per year.
