Pim Verbeek's closely guarded plans have been revealed, the Dutchman set to become the national youth technical director for Morocco after 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa.
It's believed the appointment, effective from the beginning of August, will be unveiled on Saturday, ending speculation since Verbeek said he would not continue with the Australia job beyond the World Cup.
Socceroos coach Verbeek will have responsibility for identifying and developing young talent for the Morocco national team, overseeing the under-17, under-19 and Olympic teams assisted, predictably, by current No.2 Henk Duut.
Speaking from the Netherlands, Verbeek described the role as a new continent, a new challenge and a fascinating job.
"It's somewhere brand new for me, a beautiful country and Moroccan football is not doing so well at the moment so the challenge is big. Also it is only three hours flight from Holland so my family will be happy, which was a major part of my thinking," Verbeek said.
Verbeek expects to be formally unveiled in late April, but other than that will have no contact with his new employers until Australia's World Cup is over.
"They know my only focus is Australia until then, which was an important part of my taking the job," he said.
"But after that I will have much to do. Morocco did not qualify for the World Cup or the African Cup so we have to find some good young players and make them ready for the national team.
"There are young Moroccan players scattered around Europe, all over, and we must identify those who we think are good enough."
Certainly Morocco's recent record suggests he has a sizeable task on his hands, as the country have not qualified for the past three World Cups.
