Ah une autre époque où le son était tout autre chose, à l'image de tant de talents qui hantent encore les créateurs d'aujourd'hui.

Billie Holliday avec sa voix si poignante sur ce morceau qui a l'air si doux, si tendre et qui pourtant relate le lynchage, et cet étrange fruit qui peut sembler doux et attrayant, le corps d'un Noir pendu à un arbre. Quand la chanson se fait engagée et joue sur le contraste. Un morceau bouleversant..
