bmi is pleased to announce the launch of exciting new routes from London Heathrow to Bergen and Stavanger, Norway, and Marrakech and Casablanca, Morocco, operating from the beginning of April 2011.
Bergen and Stavanger will each offer a daily service, with Marrakech operating three flights a week on Monday, Friday and Sunday from 1 April, and Casablanca operating four flights a week on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 2 April.
bmi will be the only airline to serve Bergen from Heathrow. This is great news for leisure travellers who want to visit the Norwegian Fjords and for business travellers. Stavanger enables customers to access the important oil and energy market in Norway. The addition of Casablanca and Marrakech will increase our growing North African network to seven destinations from London Heathrow.

This news, follows the recent announcement of new flights from Heathrow to the Libyan capital, Tripoli, and a double daily service from Heathrow to Beirut. In addition we have just launched a new service from Heathrow and from Manchester to Basel, Switzerland in partnership with SWISS.

The new routes will be operated using an Airbus 319 aircraft with Business Class and Economy cabins both offering complimentary food and drink.

As part of our network changes, we are sorry to tell you that we have regrettably taken the decision to suspend our seven daily flights between London Heathrow and Glasgow from 27 March 2011. The recently announced increases by BAA in domestic passenger charges at London Heathrow by more than 50% effective 1 April 2011, will make the already loss making route between London Heathrow and Glasgow unsustainable for us. However, bmi Regional will continue to offer daily flights from Glasgow to Copenhagen and two flights a day from Glasgow to Leeds Bradford.
